WORKSHOPS

During Spring and Autumn,
we hold monthly workshops led by practising artists.

The workshops are held in Trudoxhill Village Hall, Foghamshire Lane, BA11 5DG. Led by practising artists, they offer an opportunity to learn about and try new techniques/media.

These hands-on, practical sessions run from 10am — 4pm. Attendance is restricted to members only*.

Places are limited, and early booking is advised.

*Occasionally, there may be unsold places left with only 2 weeks to go before the workshop date. In that case, non-members can book a place for an increased fee. Or they may find it more economical to join the Society for £20 and get all the member benefits!

Workshop with GLYN OVERTON — 7 March 2025

‘A most enjoyable Coasts, Boats, Harbours,Beach workshop with the experienced teacher, Glyn Overton. I'm so pleased that I went because not only did I learn about mark making in pen and ink with regards to the seaside topics but also how to transfer these skills to other uses eg — Christmas cards, drawing birds etc. Some very informative handouts, too. Most of all, we laughed and it was fun. A great day! Full marks from me.’

‘These day workshops are little gems, working with like-minded people, from all different art backgrounds, learning new techniques in an informal and friendly setting.’

‘I’ve just come back from a truly enjoyable art day workshop at Trudoxhill. Our teacher this time was Glyn Overton and we were looking at drawing  boats with fine liner pens. Glyn’s work is truly amazing and her tuition is helpful, suggestive and encouraging. I loved working with the different pens, seeing all the wonderful effects that can be achieved and drawing boats on water was a really fulfilling experience. Thank you Glyn; I’m inspired!’

Workshop with JANE EATON — 7 February 2025

Jane Eaton presented a workshop around the theme of mark making. Participants were invited to examine the marks used by the Impressionists and Post Impressionists before experimenting with these ideas within their own work.
